Diablo to Make Directorial Debut!

Posted: June 29, 2011 in Movies, News

According to Geek Tyrant, Diablo Cody is set to make her directorial debut with the upcoming comedy, Lamb of God which is also written by Cody.

The film is set up at Mandate Pictures and Mason Novick is set to produce, who has worked with Cody on Jason Reitman’s Juno and Young Adult.

The story follows a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash, decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, and on her journey finds her way back to her faith.

Making a comedy about a woman “losing her religion” so to speak is very tricky depending on how you look at it… but this is Diabo Cody we are talking about, so it will be exciting to see how she handles this material both for the screenplay and behind the lens. Stay tuned for more details as they come!

Sad news today. After three seasons of United States of Tara, Showtime has decided to cancel the series due to a drop in ratings from season one to season two and an even bigger drop from season two to season three.

After tonight, three episodes remain of the series…so enjoy the Diablo Cody goodness while you can! It’s been a great adventure to date…and while we most likely will not get a conclusion tied in a pretty bow, surely the ending will leave us satisfied. So thanks Diablo Cody for three seasons of great television!

Since coming back to Twitter after a 4 month break, Diablo Cody has been on a roll tweeting away! But as Twitter only gives us so many characters to use, Diablo has started a Tumblr called, Honest To Blr. She’s not the only one who writes on the Tumblr, so be sure to check out what Diablo and her friends have to say!

Also, I hope everyone is enjoying the third season of United States of Tara! This season is 4 episodes in with 8 more to go, so stay tuned for more new episodes of Tara Mondays at 10:30pm only on Showtime.
